New Year's Friday 5!

I stumbled across this website a few weeks ago, and decided that I would give it a go today. http://www.friday5.org/

1. What’s something that’s better when the newness has worn off? Jeans

2. What’s something you already own that could stand to be replaced by the newer version? My cell phone and my mattress.

3. What’s something that was better before someone made it “new and improved?” My bank. We were with Washington Mutual for 8 years, and now it is Chase bank. I really don't like them.

4. Of geographic locations whose names begin with the word “new,” which seems like the most interesting place to visit? New York. I've never been there, and I know that when I go, it will cost me a ton of money! :) I want to see shows, shop, eat, sight see, basically do all the tourist-y things one can do!

5. On what date will 2010 no longer feel like the new year? Probably not until the end of January. Once the family is back in the swing of things, and all holiday festivities have worn off, it won't seem so new anymore.

  1. Cool idea for a post. Since my blog is primarily about food, hope you don't mind me answering these questions here.

For me it's a baseball cap. I own a ton of baseball caps, and I like it when a new one's been broken in a bit.

Oddly, I can't think of anything of mine that needs an upgrade at the moment, though my wife's GPS, purchased just three years ago, is very much the sort of navigation system that Fred Flintstone would use in his floorless car.

    3. What’s something that was better before someone made it “new and improved?”
Probably any food that was changed to be more healthy, i.e. baked potato chips. Hey Lays, I can taste the difference and it ain't good!

    4. Of geographic locations whose names begin with the word “new,” which seems like the most interesting place to visit?
I've been to New York a few times and generally enjoy it, though I could do without the "open sewer" smell at every street corner in lower Manhattan. It's a vibrant and exciting city, but I'd probably choose New England.

    5. On what date will 2010 no longer feel like the new year?
    Whenever I stop accidentally writing "09". :)

  2. New York is SOOOO much fun. Jess and I spent two weeks there in 2003 and it was a BLAST! There is so much to do there, but pack those walking shoes.
